Las buenas ilustraciones tienen la característica, al menos para mi, de hipnotizar por horas, mientras trato de notar cada detalle que cuenta la historia detrás de la imagen. Calculo que cualquier escritor, bueno o malo, puede decir que los lectores toman la historia y hacen su propia interpretación del texto, a veces con consecuencias hilarantes, como algunos ejemplos notados por Umberto Eco en Lector in Fabula.

No hay problema cuando el autor no se puede quejar, como en el caso de Dickens o los hermanos Grimm, pero que pasa en el mundo del fan-fic y el fan-art cuando el autor puede opinar? Y odiarlo?

En fin, ese era mi marco mental mientras me robaba inspiracion de algunos de los libros que he leido.

Good illustration, at least for me, usually grabs me in a sort of hypnotising way because they tell a story, and I just stare at them trying to develop that story to myself. As any good writer (and I guess bad one too) can tell us, readers take the story and interpret it in their own way. But what happens when both collide? When the story told by illustrating it is an interpretation of what somebody wrote?

It’s no problem with Charles Dickens or the Brothers Grimm, but when the author is alive, what if they hate it?
